2007 Blogathon: Guillain Barré Syndrome
29 July 2007 @ 07:43 pm
Now that the Blogathon is over on my part, and I've had some sleep and a bit to eat, I'm finding myself checking in here and stalking the Blogathon's site for the B schedulers. (They're almost done.)

The 'thon is over, yes. While I trooped through many of the posts, I'm finding myself missing it... The community effort, commenting, getting comments, etc.

I did mention that perhaps I would turn this into a support blog for those with GBS/CIPD, but I'm afraid the audience is very tiny and I am afraid no one would participate. I think I'll keep it open though, and still post interesting tid-bits or articles I can find on the syndromes. Maybe over time I can turn it into something more, or tuck it away for another Blogathon. I would definitely do it again, but I would also definitely plan better!

2007 Blogathon: Guillain Barré Syndrome

I'd like to thank those few that really truly supported me. For real. Even with one pledge, this was all really worth it. I know it sounds corny, but I learned a lot about myself through this, and became more aware about charities in general just by reading through the posts during slow times.

Pledgers before/during the 'thon:

[info]yohshee
Sandi & Ed
Trish & Joe
Charlene
Steven's Hospital
Robert
TG
[info]miriampenguin (Check out her Blogathon: [info]miriamblogathon)

THANK YOU!

Also a big thanks to my monitor who gave me support through and through: [info]asphyxi!

Congrats Alex! He was the closest with 99 bears as his guess, for the How Many? post I made. Excluding those on the top shelf, there were 96 total bears. Doesn't seem like that many, huh? Don't forget to email me with your address Alex, so I can get this little guy out to you. (tink.astoria@gmail.com)

As for the Peace Bear Buddie, in this post, it will be going to the Children's Intensive Care Unit at Steven's Hospital, woot!

...this article dealing with how time may not exist might be a bit too deep. The general concept of this is how at the very base of things, time doesn't really exist. Time only seems to exist on larger scales. One example they use to describe this is "surface of the water", the water has no real surface on the scale of atoms, but when you look at the water in a larger perspective, it exists. Have fun trying to prevent your brain from exploding on this one.

People have strange ideas for what they want to put on their bodies. Here is a guy who gets the text of a blue screen of death as an arm tattoo. Heres the link.

White tigers have always been my favorite wildlife animal. I have always like domestic cats, growing up with more than a dozen at any given time in my life. Whenever I was supposed to do essays in school I would always try to research the white tiger or other exotic cats.

I keep going from insanely hot and sweaty to chilly and freezing my buttcheeks together.

I hate Seattle weather.

I can't wait to crawl into bed, seriously.

Note to my monitor: Feel free to pick a number on the peace guessing game. No one else really has, and you've been great! :P

Dracula 2000 is really not cutting it. I may have to put in something lighter like Galaxy Quest. Yup. And nibble on some cold leftover pizza, breakfast (or midnight snack?) of the champions and insane-o's that are doing this Blogathon.

Dad was surprised I made it this far, and has thusly pitched in $20 more bucks to the pledges.

Hooray!

And now, I put on Dracula 2000 for my own amusement, and give you this Youtube video to watch. I feel it's very fitting!
